Operations Tech

Position Title:  Operations Tech –Full Time

Department:  Operations


Reports to Position Title: Director of Operations
Purpose & General Description of the Position: This position is responsible for the general maintenance of the Agency's buildings, equipment, and vehicles.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED OR at least 1 year successful experience as a maintenance worker

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

  • Meet State "Good Moral Character" guidelines

  • Age 18 years or greater

  • Valid Michigan Driver’s License with less than 4 points on Driving record


ReRequired Skills and Abilities:

  • Physical ability to stand and/or walk up to 8 hours per shift; to frequently lift, carry and/or push objects weighing up to 25 pounds; to occasionally lift, carry and/or push objects weighing up to 100 pounds; and to bend, reach, stretch, twist, turn, climb, kneel, crouch, grasp, and crawl

  • Ability to understand and implement slightly complex oral and written instructions

  • Ability to make slightly complex calculations

  • Work as a member of a team

  • Ability to safely and effectively operate maintenance and mechanical tools and equipment  

  • Ability to follow prescribed safety procedures

  • Analytic ability to determine the tools and materials necessary to make repairs, to make needed repairs in a timely and efficient manner, and to identify and report repair work requiring more advanced skills

  • Professional, courteous, and respectful manner at all times

  • Constructively work toward problem resolution

  • Essential Duties:

  • Completes general facility repair as well as building and grounds and upkeep.

  • Clean and maintains agency tools and equipment

  • Clean, maintain and organize the maintenance shop and supplies storage area

  • Completes general safety checks, conduct routine preventive maintenance tests of facility systems, record and report the results of such tests

  • Assist other Agency staff with the relocation, delivery or removal of heavy objects

  • Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing, supporting and articulating the agency’s Circle of Courage Strength Based Program philosophy


Associated Duties:  All other duties as may be assigned by the Operations Supervisor, Director of Operations and/or President/CEO.
