This year’s annual Volunteer Appreciation Picnic will be held on Wednesday, July 17 from 5-7 p.m. at Whaley Children’s Center, 1201 N Grand Traverse, Flint MI 48503.

Close to 300 guests attended this year’s Tux and Tennies Gala and Auction. Throughout the evening, the attendees raised nearly $140,000 directly benefitting the programs and services for the children at Whaley Children’s Center.

The money raised at this event is close to double the amount raised at Whaley Children’s Centers previous highest grossing event—a 2006 gala which raised $70,985.

The Tux & Tennies Gala and Auction, hosted by Grand Blanc Motorcars on May 18, will be an evening of dinner, dancing, fun and fundraising.

On May 18, 2013, Grand Blanc Motorcars will present The Tux and Tennies Gala & Auction to benefit Whaley Children’s Center. The event will be held at Grand Blanc Motorcars located at 9099 Holly Road in Grand Blanc and will feature live and silent auctions and performances by Mark Randisi and the Motor City Orchestra.  This is one of three major fundraisers to benefit Whaley Children’s Center and fills a 25% operating gap in the Charity’s annual budget.

The Stella & Frederick Loeb Charitable Trust, which is administered by Citizens Bank Wealth Management, now part of FirstMerit Private Bank, has committed a $10,000 donation to Whaley Children’s Center. The sponsorship elevates the Loeb Trust to the Benefactor level for 2013.

The Powers Catholic High School Men’s Varsity Basketball team will present Whaley Children’s Center with a basketball rim and backboard as well as a monetary donation this Friday, April 19 at 6:15 p.m. at Whaley Children’s Center, 1201 N. Grand Traverse.

CARF International announced that Whaley Children’s Center has been accredited for a period of three years for its Children and Adolescent Counseling and Residential Treatment programs. This is the first accreditation that the international accrediting body, CARF, has awarded to Whaley Children’s Center. It is the highest level of endorsement obtainable and will extend through October 2015.
